Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Riedel Vinum Spirits Glasses, Set of 2Customer Review: Sherry Glasses Summary: 5 Stars
Proper Sherry glasses have been difficult to find. One may guess that Amazon would have a high quality and an excellent shape.
Description of Riedel Vinum Spirits Glasses, Set of 2These Riedel Vinum Spirits glasses feature uniquely shaped bowls that are petite in size, with a slightly bulbous base, that graduate up into a cylindrical shape, delivering your favorite spirits to the perfect area of your palate, enhancing all the special qualities of this drink. Use them for serving spirits or fortified wines like port, sherry or dessert wines. Perfect for entertaining, these glasses encourage your after dinner drinks to show off a little to your guests. Each glass is 6-3/8 inches high, with a 2-7/8 ounce full capacity. Renowned Austrian glassmaker Riedel designs the shape of each glass to most fully enhance the appreciation of the liquid within. Uniquely shaped bowls allow these two glasses to release yet contain the aroma and flavor of any fine spirit or liqueur. Long-stemmed and broad-based, providing just the right mixture of delicacy and stability, each glass stands 6-3/8 inches tall and holds a mere 2-7/8 ounces at full capacity. The set makes a superb wedding gift or adds to an existing collection for the serious sipper of high-end tequila, gin, cream or chocolate liqueurs, and other such spirits. Comprised of more than 24 percent lead crystal for superb brilliance and clarity, Vinum stems and cocktail glasses are nevertheless affordable because they are machine-made rather than mouth-blown. Riedel introduced the popular Vinum line in 1986, and this particular glass the following year. While all Vinum glassware is dishwasher-safe, Riedel recommends washing the crystal by hand to prevent detergent residue that can affect wine taste. --Ann Bieri
